Canapés & Bowl Food

Whether you wish to serve a few pre-dinner canapés or are entertaining a large number of standing guests over the course of several hours, our canapés & bowl food menu provides a vast variety of choices. Canapés can be light & tasty or rich & decadent, and our bowl foods provide more substantial dishes that can be combined to create a full & varied meal.

Cold meat

  • Seared beef fillet tataki with Shichi-mi tōgarashi & Terriyaki glaze
  • Skewers of British roast beef fillet with horseradish crème fraiche
  • Ethical foie gras paté on brioche crostini with fig purée
  • Roasted figs with honey, parma ham, & Roquefort on toasted sourdough
  • Asparagus wrapped in prosciutto with pesto dip
  • Sissi’s truffled chicken liver pate with mixed crackers
  • Crunchy smoked chicken with salsa roja, avocado & cream in a taco basket

Hot meat

  • Mini Yorkshire puddings with British roast beef, horseradish & micro herbs
  • Mini “Wienerschnitzel” (veal) with chive sauce
  • Mini cheeseburgers on an open brioche bun slice with tomato chutney & gherkin
  • Warm duck spring rolls with hoi sin sauce
  • Empanadas chilenas
  • Variety of Austrian & German Sausages & sweet mustard

  • Quesadillas with chicken & tomato salsa
  • Mini cocktail cumberlands with honey mustard

Cold fish

  • Blinis with smoked salmon, crème fraîche & dill
  • Bloody Mary tomato soup with vodka-infused crème fraîche & sustainably-sourced caviar
  • King prawns with Thai spices & guacamole
  • Tuna tataki with Sissi’s sesame, ginger & soy sauce
  • Miso black cod on crispy seaweed puff with wasabi mayo, edamame, pickled ginger and chilli
  • California rolls with soy sauce & pickled ginger
  • Tuna crudo with avocado mousse, pomegranate & lime dressing on spoons
  • Peruvian “ceviche” on spoons or on baby gem lettuce

Hot fish

  • Soft-shell crab tempura with wasabi mayonnaise
  • Pan-fried queen scallops served in their shells with a citrus chimichurri
  • Fish & chips in a cone
  • Mini crab cakes with wasabi mayonnaise
  • Asian glazed-miso black cod with cauliflower purée on spoons
  • Lemon sole goujons with tartar sauce
  • Salmon dice with teriyaki glaze
  • Crunchy Oaxacan fish tacos, with guacamole and tomato salsa
  • Roasted king prawn with Tom Yum broth

Cold Vegetarian

  • Basket of crudités with quail eggs, & Austrian “Liptauer” served in a head of cabbage
  • Soft boiled quail’s eggs with baby asparagus ‘soldiers’ (max orders 30)
  • Vietnamese rice-paper rolls filled with vegetables, Vietnamese dipping sauce (nuoc cham)
  • Cherry tomato & baby mozzarella skewers with basil
  • Vegetable maki rolls with a variety of seasonal vegetables & wasabi mayo
  • Mini cups of:
    • Smooth gazpacho, with cucumber jelly
    • Cucumber & dill vichyssoise
  • Zucchini rolls filled with harissa hummus, walnut crumb & pomegranate (Vegan)

Hot Vegetarian

  • Mini strudels filled with spinach, feta cheese & roasted pine nuts
  • Mini quiche bites with mushroom, pesto & melted gruyère
  • Yuka (fried south American root vegetable) with guacamole
  • Grilled halloumi skewers & seasonal roasted vegetables with red pepper dip
  • Truffle arancini (risotto balls) filled with melted mozzarella, with sweet chili mayo

  • Pâté a choux puffs filled with mushroom purée & truffle

Cold Sweet

  • Mini pavlovas with fruits of the forest
  • Eton mess in a cup with berries, whipped cream & meringue

  • A variety of French & Austrian biscuits
  • Mini tartes au citron with toasted meringue
  • Mini bite-size jam doughnuts
  • Sissi’s fudge brownies
  • Sissi’s rich chocolate truffles
  • Variety of colourful macarons
  • Skewers of mixed exotic fruit & berries with chocolate dipping sauce
  • 70% dark chocolate mousse on spoons

Hot Sweet

  • Mini tarte tatin
  • Sissi’s mini apple strudel  with whipped cream
  • Sissi’s Kaiserschmarrn on spoons with plum compote
  • Mini crepés with chocolate praline
  • Warm chocolate chip cookies (reduced sugar)

Bowl Food

  1. Black cod with teriyaki glaze, sweet potato ginger purée & kale crisps
  2. Pan-fried scallops with cauliflower purée and crispy bacon crumb
  3. Roasted ribeye of beef anticuchos (skewers) with chimichurri & fried plantainst
  4. Moroccan lamb tagine with Sissi’s couscous salad
  5. Sissi’s Austrian beef Goulash on Spätzle
  6. Shredded Peking duck with mixed baby leaf salad & Asian vinaigrette
  7. Prawn Pad Thai with rice noodles
  8. Asian glazed salmon on braised puy lentils
  9. Courgette, gruyere & prosecco risotto with parsley pesto
  10. Wild mushroom risotto with parmesan crisp
  11. Butternut squash risotto with mascarpone & herbs
  12. Roasted aubergine, tomato, & pomegranate salad with yoghurt dressing
  13. Grilled Mediterranean vegetables on couscous salad with basil & lemon
  14. Spinach & ricotta stuffed tortellini with rocket pesto
  • For 1-2 hour cocktail parties, we would recommend 6-8 canapés
  • For 3-4 hour cocktail parties, we would recommend 8-12 savoury canapés, 2-3 bowl foods or street foods and 2-3 sweet canapés
  • For dinner parties, we would recommend 2-4 canapés before sitting down for your 3-course meal
